This is my flashback, for my story, for one of my [many] Writing Classes.
-She walked out of the glass doors of work, took a deep breathe of the fresh air and started down the sidewalk. The dark surrounded her like a blanket of shadows. A gush of wind caught her by surprised and she clutched her white sweater closer to her body. As she walked down the deserted sidewalk, no cars or noises from crickets, she stared straight ahead with her head tilted at the right angle to wish on the sparkling stars. After her wish is made she looked down at her feet and stopped dead in her tracks. A little girls green hair ribbon laid there on the cement. She froze and couldn’t help but think about the bracelet tied around her wrist.
-She strings the green star onto the black thread, the blue circled bead follows. She chooses the purple N, the yellow A, an orange S, and finally a red H. she strings them all on putting a black square bead between all the letters. A blue circle bead follows and then a green star is put in place before she ties the bracelet around his wrist. She smiled without looking up. “There. Do you like it?” She didn’t look up but she knew he was smiling, and something sarcastic was about to come from his mouth. “Why would I ever like anything you ever made?” She pretended to look shocked when she looked in his eyes. He simply took her face in his hands and kissed her pink lips. When he pulled away he took the bracelet he made for her and tied it around her wrist. He looked at her and she could tell he lost his breathe. When he looked away, she couldn’t help but think that the look he gave her was something he wanted to say but didn’t.
-A single drop of water fell on her cheek. She jumped and looked up to see if it was raining. When she decided that it wasn’t, she whipped her face in confusion and found that she was producing the drops. She looked down at the green ribbon once more and stepped on it as she continued to walk away from the past. She wrapped her sweater a little bit more tightly around her body and played with the stars and beads, of various colors, that spelled out her name.
